So Why Celery Juice?
There are claims that celery juice can do a lot of things for you. Starve any yeast, mold, fungus, or bad bacteria in the body, reduce inflammation, alkalize your gut, aide in digestion so food doesn’t putrefy in your digestive tract, and many other things. The talk about celery juice comes from “The Medical Medium”, a self proclaimed food medium who receives guidance from “spirit” about people’s health ailments……….yes that sounds dumb to me too BUT I was feeling out of control with my eating and cravings, and my digestion was a hot ass mess so I decided to give it a try. I’d also had a few friends tell me they loved it so that helped.
Here’s What I Did
I decided to keep everything the same and just add celery juice to my routine. Every morning on an empty stomach I have at least 16 ounces of celery juice and then 30 minutes to an hour later I have breakfast. So I still had coffee when I felt like it, and ate some meat, lots of fruit and veg, carbs, and drank lots of water.
To Make the juice I blend one bunch of celery with 1/2-1 cup of filtered water in my Vitamix. I then pour that into a nut milk cloth over a bowl, you have to squeeze the hell out of it to get all the juice out, then pour it into a jar or pitcher! This entire process takes about 10 minutes which makes it easy to fit into your life. If you travel a lot, any juice place can make pure celery juice if you request it, I haven’t struck out yet.
What I experienced week 1:
- Headaches; I had pretty powerful headaches for the first 3 days, I did not change my eating habits to ensure I could identify any effects the juice might have on me.
- Fatigue; I felt very sleepy.I took a nap everyday after work for like an hour the first 3 days.
- Improved Digestion; To put it lightly…you’ll be sh**ing everyday guaranteed.
- Breakouts; My skin had some (not a lot) tiny little bumps I usually never have on my forehead and chin. Nothing major enough to be stressed about lol they were super tiny.
What I experienced week 2:
- My skin became perfectly clear by the first day of week 2, then i got my period 4 days later and that went to shit lol.
- I got the feeling of hunger back..this was HUGE for me. I often wasn’t feeling hungry at all i was just eating becuase it was “time to eat”. For the first time in a very long time I actually felt hungry a couple hours after drinking the celery juice.
- My digestion is killin the game, ideally you should be pooping every day around the same time. Week one was all over the place because of how much I had been eating the week before but by week 2 I was 100% regular on a schedule. (if talking about poop freaks you out…grow up).
- I haven’t had a sugar craving since I started. Honestly that’s one of the most impressive things because I am a sugar addict binge machine. I haven’t even thought about it, i’m guessing because whatever was living in my stomach that feeds on sugar has died (fingers crossed).
I have kept this as a part of my life since doing it for two weeks, it’s now been 3 and on most days I just have celery juice and water in the morning no coffee needed! I still have coffee if I feel like it but I rarely feel inclined.
